Think PINK!!

So, October is internationally known as Breast Cancer Awareness month. I don’t have any personal experience with the disease, thank God, and I don’t have a family history. But I do know a handful of people that have gone through it and survived it, and they are some of the people I admire most in this world.

Even though *breast* cancer is not in my family, cancer as a whole is. And big time. So I’m always encouraging my family members to get regular checkups of their entire body, just to be sure. I believe that early detection is the key to surviving most diseases, especially cancer. And for some reason, breast cancer feels very close to my heart, it always has. And I openly support Susan G. Komen for the Cure, it’s my favorite charity and I donate whenever I can.

I know I said in my last post that I would be talking about Emmy fashion or something, but seriously, life got in the way and suddenly I had no free time =(. But now I found a few minutes to dedicate to this precious and important cause, and I’d like to take advantage of them.

This is for all those women I know that bravely survived this monster and live proudly to tell their stories, and for those who got overpowered by it and rest their souls up above. This is for all those women that get regular checkups to prevent it, but also for those who don’t or can’t. This is for young girls that think they don’t have a business with breast cancer, wake up! Women as young as 25 years old have been diagnosed, that could be you. BE AWARE! RAISE AWARENESS! IF WE ALL WORK IN THIS TOGETHER, WE CAN BEAT THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE!

I leave you for now with some awareness ads, featuring some big female celebs that were kind enough to lend their faces for this purpose.

Until next time, much love and even more sweetness,
>> Cotton Mary
